Consultants' team expands to 15

Legacy Link has expanded the number of consultants to meet demand from charities. Susannah Seely, a practising solicitor who has been working at both Cancer Research UK and Age UK, joined us earlier in the year to assist on legacy administration. Helen Hoare, formerly a Legacy Manager at CR UK and current Director of Training at the Institute of Legacy Management, joined us in June. We are delighted to welcome both Susannah and Helen and the experience and expertise they bring.

Legacy Link consultants REALLY add value!

Legacy Link has calculated that its consultants added £1.25m of value to the legacy income of client charities in 2009 through efficient and pro-active legacy administration. Examples include asserting correct treatment of taxation, persuading solicitors to bring forward distributions where possible, effective management of contentious claims, ensuring the use of brokers, surveyors and others offering preferential rates to charities, maximising property sales proceeds and many others.

In the current economic climate, Legacy Link is working as hard as it can to help charities optimise their legacy receipts.

Article on the relationship between charity legacy promotion and administration

Legacy Link's Director, Crispin Ellison, recently published an article on the synergy between legacy administration and legacy marketing in Caritas magazine - leadership and management for the third sector - which can now be downloaded from this website by clicking here.

One-to-one coaching available

If you need to develop the legacy administration skills of a member of staff more quickly than would be possible through attending courses, Legacy Link offers one-to-one coaching. The coaching is completely tailored to the person's needs, and helps him or her create a resource of materials for future reference.

The costs are in line with Legacy Link's standard charges (please see our Costs & Terms page) for time spent coaching plus preparation time.

If you would like to discuss this option further, please contact Crispin Ellison via the 'Contact Us' link in the menu to the left.
